Cheerleaders do work hard...but their attitudes stink. Not all of them but some of them.
BTW, don't start defending band with me. I was in band and I know how hard we worked. Some football players and other athletes couldn't handle marching and keeping time. Some football players and I say SOME are lucky they know which snap count to move and block on...

PLEASE....... I would love to see some band members standing over the line of scrimmage with LB getting ready to put his stuff in the dirt and still manage to "keep time" and not [censored] on himself, not to mention try to read what type of coverage the secondary is running and make a split second decision on where to throw the ball....... But I am sure the halftime performance is much more pressure packed than that..... Keep dreamin pal
Don't even tell me that you have to be in better shape to participate in the band than play football. Come out for 2-a-days or 3-a-days in the blistering August heat puking you guts out because you can't make it any further or go another 10 yards...... Again, PLEASE

NO OH PLEASE on your lame little excuse. By the slam your making, you've just slapped Norton band members who also play football in the face, as well as Powell Valley and some other schools. Now that takes talent to play in the band and football. Oh yeah, it's so cute to hear you talk and say that...Oh no, the band doesn't work hard they just play music...is that your excuse? Can you march 24, marktime 24 forward 16 and marktime 24 and hit the line exactly where you are supposed everytime? I would love to see some "he-man football players" come out and try band camp in the hot sun, carry a set of 30-50 pound drums or try not to scream while standing at attention with a horn in your hands because the pain is unbearable.

I know football is tough and demanding, don't preach it to me. It takes a special breed to be a band member, just like it takes a special breed to be a football player or any athlete in a program. cheerleading in places other than here is an "athletic" event but around here they do nothing except cheer and fix thier hair, but i take that back i saw kelly cheerleaders actually do some backflips a couple of years ago. around here them and the band are club members not athletes.

Both are demanding, both involve a lot of work and effort. Both involve work in the summer under the hot sun. Both involve precision, both require you to remember a lot (be it plays or actual notes in a song). In their competition, both can be singled out and embarassed by mistakes (a penalty or judges comments) and both can cost your team a victory.
I've known band members who played football, and football players who were in the band and heard ones from both sides talk about how easy (in some cases) the other was or how difficult (again in some cases) the other was.
Its like most anything, unless someone is involved, they don't realize the sacrifices involved or the difficulty.
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.
